TOP END EXCELERATOR – 3-wheeled hand cycle for the disabled - FOR SALE:

This tricycle made by Invacare is in excellent condition and full working order and is ideal for anyone with a lower limb disability who wants to be able to get out in the fresh air and exercise. It offers freedom and is very healthy. I found using it very liberating.

Basically, it comprises a wheelchair back end with the hand-crank at the front (as you will see from the photos) and is quite comfortable. Also, it is simple to operate. The two rear wheels detach easily when you want to transport the bike and then the main frame can be loaded into an estate car or mid-sized SUV – though, ideally, this should be carried out by two people as the bike is bulky to handle.

These are extremely sturdy and reliable cycles - built in the USA - and the sealed unit 7-speed gears on the front hub work perfectly. They are virtually maintenance free though I have had mine checked over by a local cycle shop from time to time.

I have had this trike since new and it is better in all respects than the oneI had previously.

The reason for selling it is simple: I have developed arthritis in my elbow and wrists and so, regrettably, I can no longer use the bike for exercise. It needs to go to another home where it will be used, loved and cared for.

Having checked recently, I noted that these bikes new cost around £5,200.

While I would prefer personal collection and a bank transfer or cash payment, I could, if necessary, arrange delivery by mutual agreement.
