The Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare LAWC002 is a 18-inch transit wheelchair featuring a lightweight aluminium frame, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and has attendant-operated cable brakes. It includes a half-folding backrest, quick-release footrests, and puncture-proof tires, weighing approximately 12.4 kg (with foot rests removed, as you would lift it into the boot only 10.45kg) and supports a maximum user load of 115 kg (approx.18 stone).

Other key features include:
• Nylon seat and back offering comfortable support and easy to clean
• Chair folds up easily for storage and transportation (further enhanced by the half-folding backrest and quick-release footrests)
• Full-length armrests with upholstered arm pads increase user comfort and are easy to wipe lean
• Footrest height can be adjusted tool-free into one of 5 positions to optimise user comfort and support
• Footrests can also be swung out of the way to facilitate transfers on and off chair
• Rear stepper tubes allow carers/attendants to safely negotiate and climb kerbs

The chair is only 6 months old and comes with the original Instruction Manual and tool kit. It’s pretty much as good as new; I noticed that one of the wheels even has remnants of the original plastic wrapping on the rim!

So, why is this wheelchair for sale now? It was purchased by an elderly friend who suffered a broken ankle and used only for attending hospital appointments, since it was easily fitted into a car boot. Now that he is able to walk with the aid of a crutch the wheelchair is no longer needed, so I am selling it on his behalf.

The RRP varies (from a cursory look) between £200 - £279 depending on whom/where you purchase from. Save yourself some money because this chair is available at only £100.00 – see the photos which speak louder than my typed words.
